Intimate Macrame Wedding | South Coast Botanic Garden | Palos Verdes Peninsula, CA // Alexia + Luis
Alexia & Luis are two of the most gentle, sweet, and humble souls I’ve ever had the honor of photographing (and friending)! And their wedding day reflected who they are and their love so perfectly, and my husband Santiago and I had such a blast hanging out with them for their big day! South Coast Botanic Garden in Palos Verdes Peninsula, CA was a great place for their intimate ceremony and made for some fun photo ops while we frolicked around having fun during their Bride and Groom romantic photos!
When I asked Alexia and Luis what made them choose me as their photographer, Alexia said “I already knew I wanted to book you WAY before I got engaged” - I mean, how freaking awesome is that?! I was lucky enough that she was friends with one of my other amazing couples, Angie and Martin! For their super intimate day, they were going for a nature vibe with bohemian accents, something very organic, earthy and simple, and they definitely pulled it off!
They did some awesome DIY stuff with the help of their loved ones, such as making their wedding signs, wedding favors, the cake knife leather decor with greenery, their ceremony tables, and ceremony flower arrangements - they definitely put their hearts and hands into their whole wedding! Some of my favorite things: Alexia’s incredible (and flowy, so obviously we had to have some fun with it!) boho wedding dress by BHLDN, Luis’s bolo tie and super stylish shoes, their matching turquoise rings, Alexia’s fish braid that made her look even more angelic paired with her colorful flower crown and bouquet by J & L Floral Boutique, just…everything! I was especially in love with their unique ceremony decoration with a macrame backdrop and macrame Bride and Groom chair decor! Speaking of macrame, the DIY wedding favors that all the guests received (I got one too, it’s hanging in my kitchen!) was a miniature handmade macrame piece!
I also love how Alexia and Luis put it - what they’re most excited for about being married is having an adventure partner forever! P.S. Check out their Engagement Session in Joshua Tree National Park with all the desert vibes!
