1. So how do I book you?!
EASY! Let's start by filling out the Contact Form here. Then, once we get a date and some details worked out, I'll send over a Booking Form that gives me all the info I need for your Contract. Once that's filled out, I'll send over your Contract and all you have to do is read it over, sign it (and I counter-sign), submit your deposit and BAM - booked!
2. How would you describe your photography style?
For the actual photo-taking process, I really try to take a photojournalistic approach and capture your day naturally (not "posed" - besides family photos haha), real and authentic moments, and during your Bride & Groom session I like to let you two interact with each other rather than with the camera and I basically act as a professional third wheel, haha. We'll have a blast so it won't feel like you're just "having your photo taken" but a fun adventure where you can be yourselves, get a little vulnerable, get a little silly, and I want to capture the quirky, the hidden smiles, the tears, the laughs, the in-between moments, the raw and true pieces of you and your love for each other! I would identify my editing style as a bit dark and moody, with a beautifully unique and nontraditional look. The images I produce provide emotion and create a subtle and moody feel with a very woodsy look.
3. How would you describe your working style?
It's very important to me to connect with my couples and actually be part of your day and the whole process, and not just be a "vendor" on your checklist. I want us to vibe well and not just have a vendor-client relationship, but an actual friendship! I love when my couples keep me involved and updated through everything and it makes me so happy when I get texts from my brides "I got my dress, eeeeek! *insert photo*!" And even after the wedding day hopefully we're still keeping in touch, I love seeing your little family grow or whatever adventures life brings you! I'll probably cry with you and laugh with you on your wedding day! It's also really important to me that my couples trust me! On the wedding day, I'm very casual and many of my couples have said it felt like I was part of the family (which I love), and I am also whatever you need me to be apart from just being your photographer - I'm your friend, helper, drink-provider, somewhat-time-keeper, etc.! You can find me kicking off my shoes and climbing on furniture for your Getting Ready/Detail photos, sneaky and stealthy and all over your Ceremony (unless you want me to back off, then I'll use a long lens), and your dorky adventure buddy during your Bride & Groom photos!
4. I notice you identify as an Intimate Wedding and Elopement photographer, will you still photograph my rather large wedding?!
Of course! I love weddings of all shapes and sizes - I can't wait to hear all about it!
5. What's the difference between a Wedding and an Elopement?
For the purposes of my packages, a Wedding typically consists of Getting Ready, First Look, Ceremony, Portraits, and Reception and have over 50 guests. Elopements usually include Getting Ready, Ceremony, and Portraits and have fewer than 50 guests present, if any.
6. Can I have multiple outfits during a Portrait Session?
I usually suggest just doing one outfit for the sake of time, and maybe have a second outfit that's easy to change into even if we're in the middle of a dirt trail. I recommend something that's nice but casual, these end up photographing really nicely because you're the most comfortable and you're more yourself! I also share outfit ideas with you during the process, and help with color scheme and such that will go well with my photography style, so I'd be happy to give you some tips!
7. What types of locations do you suggest for shoots?
My favorite types of locations are very organic, nature-y, and have lots of space for us to frolic! I particularly love shooting in the desert or on mountaintops. I have a giant list of location ideas that I'll send to you, depending on whether you want to stay within my complimentary travel range or if you would like to adventure a bit further (the farther the drive and the farther from civilization, usually the more epic the spot)! If you want to do something a little different, I've also recommended In-Home Lifestyle Sessions to my clients too, I'd be happy to tell you all about that!
8. Do you offer a Print Release for the images?
Of course! This means that you have the rights to print the images that you receive to your heart's content for personal use. Just keep in mind you may not sell or publish (like, to bridal magazines, blogs, etc.) the images without written consent from Sarah Linda Photography. It also makes me really happy when I see couples print and frame their photos or make an album, etc. If you do so, I'd love to see photos of them hanging in your home or whatever you did with them just because it warms my heart!
9. How many photos should I expect to receive and how will I receive my images? Will they have watermarks/logos?
You can typically expect around 75 images per hour of coverage (ex: 8 hour wedding coverage means you can expect somewhere around 600 edited photos to be delivered), and similarly for Portrait Sessions (typically one hour long) you can expect around 75 images! But I personally like to under-promise and over-deliver! ;) And you will receive your high-resolution digital images on your very own Online Gallery where you and your loved ones can download them all with one click, "heart" your favorites, share the gallery, etc. Yay! Also, never ever any watermarks or logos (but I do appreciate being given credit when posting photos, pretty please)!
10. Can you help us out with our wedding timeline?
Absolutely! I always assist my couples with creating and finalizing their wedding timeline (or if you already have one, I can help you perfect it)! I will especially make sure to help you work around the lighting for the day, make sure we have plenty of time for each portion that you want photographed, time for portraits, and so on.
11. What kind of gear do you use? And do you have backup equipment?
I use top of the line gear and I have multiple camera bodies and multiple lenses, so I usually use 1-2 main bodies and 2-3 main lenses on your day and the others usually act as my backups. I shoot on multiple memory cards for an automatic backup and also backup your images on three hard drives after your wedding for six months after image delivery.
- Canon 5D Mark IV (primary camera body)
- Canon 5D Mark IV (secondary camera body)
- Canon 70D (backup camera body)
- Sigma 35mm Art f/1.4 Lens
- Canon 24-70mm f/2.8 Lens
- Sigma 135mm f/1.8 Lens
- Canon 100mm f/2,8 Macro Lens
- Canon 50mm f/1.8 Lens
12. If my event lasts longer than expected, will you stay? Is there an additional charge?
It often happens that timing runs a bit later than expected and I don't mind staying a few minutes extra free of charge! :) If the time goes up to half hour or more over, I would charge my overtime rate from there and will stay as long as my couples desire and as long as I am able.
13. Do you offer Mentor Sessions?!
I do, I do! Fill out my Mentor Inquiry Form to inquire about my Mentoring Experience packages - I'd love to help you grow as a photographer!
*Don't see your question here? No worries! Shoot me an email or fill out my Contact Form, I would love to help!*

”Where do I even begin. From the first time we contacted Sarah, we knew she was the right choice. We met via Skype which was super convenient for us and our work schedules. Sarah is just genuinely nice and so easy to talk to. It's very awkward for most people to have their photos taken but she made us feel comfortable and natural giving us direction since we had no idea what we were doing.
Sarah put together a timeline for us and it helped so much. She basically ran the entire day for us, keeping us on track. We didn't have a wedding planner just because of our budget but it would have been too many cooks in the kitchen because Sarah helped everything run smoothly that day. And if all of that wasn't enough, the end product was unreal. We couldn't be happier with our wedding and newlywed photos. I've waited almost a year to finally write all of my vendor reviews but not for lack of trying...you first year of marriage, much like your wedding day, flies by and all that you have left in the end are your photos so I really can't stress enough to people to invest in their photographer and if you love a darker, romantic, and moody style make that investment in Sarah!!”
"Choosing Sarah to be our wedding photographer was probably the best decision we made next to getting married. Her and Sammy really knew how to get all the best shots and they were so flexible during such a hectic day. She goes above and beyond and I truly am so thankful for all that she did for us. Just amazing in every sense of the word. Book her and let all the photo stress wash away because she is truly a professional and has an amazing eye for great shots !"
"Sarah and her assistant did an unbelievable job shooting our wedding. We weren't sure we wanted to have a photographer but we're talked into it, and it was absolutely the best money we spent. The photos received are some of the most beautiful portraits I have ever seen and many shots bridge the gap into fine art photography. Better yet, they are just cool people. We had 3 separate shoots with Sarah, over which she made us feel perfectly comfortable and free to be ourselves. We have since recommended her to many and will continue to ."
"Anniversary Shoot of my Dreams: Sarah was such a pleasure to work with. I originally picked her out of 5 other vendors to do an anniversary photo shoot. Her use of light and how natural her photos are made me so excited to work with her. On the day of, she was on time and made us feel at ease while shooting. Her sneak peek photos on Instagram make me even more excited to see the final product. Payments and contracts are pretty straight forward and were super easy."
"A few raindrops couldn't stop us from amazing pictures: Scheduled our maternity session at Yorba Regional Park. When we arrived for our session it started pouring rain. I was so bummed, but Sarah was willing to reschedule and try again the next day even though she had a full day already lined up. The session turned out great, despite a few raindrops and pictures (so far) look amazing! Haven't seen the full gallery yet, but so excited to have these photos to remember this special time."
"Sarah was an amazing photographer. She took care of our engagement photoshoot and the result was awesome! We went to the beach for an afternoon and took our time to take the pictures. We did several locations and several outfits as well. We had the final pictures not a long time after the photoshoot which is great. I do really recommend her for a wedding or engagement photoshoot!"
"Sarah is amazing! Her photography is breathtaking. She is so talented. Thank you Sarah for our most amazing engagement photos! I love seeing your sneak peeks on Instagram. :)"
"Sarah was the most awesome photographer I could ask for! My pictures came out even more beautiful than I expected. They appear so natural, and during the actual shoot she worked hard to achieve that organic aesthetic. Personally I loved that she used minimal flash because it really adds to the overall natural and kind of romantic effect."
"We had the best experience! She was energetic, professional, and fabulous. We are beyond pleased with her work and will find another experience to book her for again soon!"
