If you’re dreaming of enchanting forests, surrounded by lush greenery, towering trees, tranquil atmosphere, endless ferns, beautiful prairies, and rugged coastline views, an intimate wedding or elopement in the Redwoods might be right for you! Throughout California, you’ll find numerous public lands where you can find these famous redwood trees.

My first experience with redwoods trees was during my first few camping and backpacking trips to Sequoia National Park, and ever since then I’ve been obsessed with these beautiful landmarks! These towering giants are the largest and tallest the world has to offer and being in their presence is truly beathtaking!

What are Redwood Trees and why are they so famous? These trees are the largest and tallest trees in the world, often growing hundreds of feet and reaching skyscraper heights! They also carry so much ancient history with them and can live hundreds to a couple thousand years. If you’ve never seen these massive and majestic beauties, I’ve put together a list of some of California’s most beautiful places where you can see redwoods trees! All these amazing locations are worth a visit and would be amazing for a redwoods elopement!

One of the most famous places to see the California redwoods are the Redwood National & State Parks, which consists of four parks. Spanning nearly 140,000 acres, this massive iconic forest is filled with so many incredible locations for your redwoods elopement!

Redwoods Ceremony Locations

Within the Redwoods National & State Parks, there are a dozen ceremony locations for your redwoods elopement, including multiple redwood groves, amphitheater, beach areas, overlooks, and more. Guests can range anywhere between 6-20 people, depending on the ceremony location you choose. You can find out more here!

 
 

Best Time to Visit the Redwoods

While this may vary based on the specific location you want to have your wedding adventure, I would recommend May through September for the best time to get married in the redwoods. The winter months tend to bring more and cooler temperatures that can be a little cold for comfort.

Spring and Fall are likely your best bets as far as tourists and crowds! After all, you want to be there at the best time to visit the redwoods without the full parking lots and an audience to your intimate wedding vows.
