LGBTQ Wedding // Yosemite National Park

LGBT Wedding // Angie & Callie

After selecting two different venues for a traditional wedding, and given the current circumstances of a pandemic, a large wedding was no longer reasonable and adding extra stress to Angie and Callie’s planning. They began searching alternative wedding ideas and came across an adventure elopement, which turns out better suited their personalities - so the stars aligned! They knew they didn’t want a whole lot of people around, and couldn’t justify the cost of a big traditional wedding. Angie came across Yosemite National Park from a random Pinterest photo, and then they reached out to me and all the planning fell into place from there.

These two brides are the sweetest souls and were up for all the adventure! We started the day at their beautiful Airbnb with their closest loved ones. Angie put her own florals together and made a DIY bouquet and it turned out so beautiful! She wore a lovely sparkling blush wedding dress, which was super fun a non-traditional, and Callie sported the coolest set of custom leather suspenders and floral bow tie - as you can see, they both looked stunning…P.S. How cute are their elopement signs?! Their signs say “Permanent” and “Dibbs” - love it!!

Once we headed into the park, we drove up Tioga Rd to the iconic Glacier Point for their private ceremony where they exchanged vows and had a loved one officiate for them (while he held Angie’s flowers!), and had their first dance with Half Dome in the background. Fun fact - I’ve been on top of Half Dome before, it’s quite a trek but should definitely be on a hiker’s bucket list. After that we all hung out by the cars trying to warm up a bit and had our snacky lunches. Next was my favorite part of the day, Angie and Callie and their small group of loved ones joined us for the hike to the 2.3 miles to Taft Point. When we got to the epic cliffs of Taft Point, we were rewarded with the most glorious sunset I’ve ever seen in Yosemite! Everything was golden and pink and red and absolutely perfect…Once we had our fill of the epic sunset, everyone was excited to get back to town, warm up, and eat up. We made the hike back from Taft Point in the dark, with our headlamps lighting the way, drove back into town and enjoyed the evening!
